Jay-Z Freestyles - Barack Obama Inauguration

Check out this video clip of Jay-Z dropping the "My President is Black" remix at an after-party. Young Jeezy MC-ing, Akon in the background.

If you catch yourself shaking your head b/c the lyrics are mind-blowing, don't fault yourself.

College TV

I really wished I had something that would allow me to watch TV on my computer at home. when I was an undergrad. Come to think of it, how come this doesn't exist for me now that I am no longer in college?

Yes, we've all heard of EyeTV, Boxee, Apple TV, all the online choices like hulu, Joost, YouTube, ABC.com, NBC.com, Fox.com...

But what about this?

What is G?

Yes, it is Gatorade. Had to say it caught my attention when I saw it.

Who says advertising is dead? If it is done well, catches the attention of the viewer, and is at all relevant, it works!

Testing Zemanta

Image representing Zemanta as depicted in Crun...Image via CrunchBase I'm trying out this new blogging assitant technology, Zemanta.

I had to download it, install it, and then do that lovely "Run ActiveX Control" thing that pops up in IE 7.

But alas, I finally see it next to my blogging screen!

Check out this new Lebron James commercial where he dreams of being a member of the woeful Cleveland Browns!

(I thought it would look up the appropriate YouTube video here, but I guess not. I did this manually).

Reblog this post [with Zemanta]

Rookie of the Year? Definitely Derrick Rose

My brother just bought these D.Rose shoes.

DJ Spinbad

This party DJ is amazing. He is the resident DJ on Z100 and does amazing mixes. I think his "Sweet Spot" is really around the 1992-1997 era of hip-hop, as I recall hearing many of his featured songs in those hazy years.

Embedding time - The Fall Guy

Here's Hulu embedded.

I wish all these sites would just get rid of so many borders - full screen experiences within the site would be fun.

Embedding a movie? - Joost

Suhweeet Sighting: Stephen A. Smith

Caught Stephen A. Smith coming out of our office building today. He probably had some ESPN meeting.

Suprisingly tall (probably 6'2). I said, "Stephen A!" and he replied, "Alright yo!"

Nice.

Notorious BIG Movie

Inside source says it's good, Biggie portrayal is strong, although Derek Luke does NOT look like Puffy.

Kanye: Dope Ass Beat

This is so funny.

I think the producers of 60 minutes looked around and thought - who is the oldest, whitest person we can send to go interview Kanye West?

Here's what happens...

#116: Black Music that Black People Don't Listen To Anymore

This site is so funny!

http://www.stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/

Check out Reason #116: Black Music that Black People don't like anymore.

"Even as you read this, white people are telling other white people about the golden age of Hip Hop that they experienced in a suburban high school or through a viewing of The Wackness.

If you are good at concealing laughter and contempt, you should ask a white person about “Real Hip Hop.” They will quickly tell you about how they don’t listen to “Commercial Hip Hop” (aka music that black people actually enjoy), and that they much prefer “Classic Hip Hop.”

“I don’t listen to that commercial stuff. I’m more into the Real Hip Hop, you know? KRS One, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, De La Soul, Wu Tang, you know, The Old School.”

Calling this style of music ‘old school’ is considered an especially apt name since the majority of people who listen to it did so while attending old schools such as Dartmouth, Bard, and Williams College.

What it all comes down to is that white people are convinced that if they were alive when this music was relevant that they would have been into it. They would have been Alan Lomax or Rick Rubin. Now the best they can hope for is to impress an older black person with their knowledge."

MJ Dunk on Ewing

If this doesn't put you in the right mood for 2009, then I don't know what will...

Make sure you listen to Johnny "Red" Kerr's exuberance as MJ puts it DOWN on Ewing.

Happy New Year! The Year of the Ox

Did you know we have entered the Year of the Ox? This is YOUR YEAR if you were born in the following years: 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985

"People born in the Year of the Ox are patient, speak little, and inspire confidence in others. They tend, however, to be eccentric, and bigoted, and they anger easily. They have fierce tempers and although they speak little, when they do they are quite eloquent. Ox people are mentally and physically alert. Generally easy-going, they can be remarkably stubborn, and they hate to fail or be opposed. They are most compatible with Snake, Rooster, and Rat people"

I like that they are most compatible with "Rat people." funny

Oh btw, it was FREEZING in NYC last night, as hundreds of thousands of people descended on the Big Apple to ring in the new year.

The best surprise was seeing Lionel Richie on stage w/Ryan Seacrest on TV last night. How random!!
