No Mo' Montel Williams

I must admit, as a youngster, I used to pass some time on my couch watching the demented lives of those on the Montel Williams Show, but then something remarkable happened. Montel battled cancer and changed his show to actually help people's lives, rather than exploit them for ratings. Let this be a lesson to all that daytime television can have a purpose after all.

Making the Band 4...update

The inaugural episode of Making the Band 4 was shown tonight and I gotta say, these bands really do suck. I don't know how Diddy pumped out a Platinum album for Danity Kane, but that is very lucky.

Aubrey has got to be one of the most annoying non-stars on TV today. She is mega-flirty and has already been called out by Puff as a disruptive force in his wack female group. Dawn is a man.

Donnie as a solo artist? That is a tough sell, but I think he'll do well in Germany. They all do.

Top Ensemble goes to...No Country for Old Men

OK, this movie has risen to my top "Must See" list within the next month...got to squeeze it in before the Oscars. It just won "Best Ensemble" SAG award...Anyone see it? Good?

I guess the Coen Bros live next door! Got to support the neighbors!

Allow me to reintroduce myself..my name is "Ang!"

While Angie was freestyling over a Jay-Z beat (with the help of JJ), such as "i'm the fashion designers', number one supplier", the actual song came over the airwaves thanks to DJ Spinbad.

"I got the hottest Korean husband wearin my chain..."

Hey Jay! Now that you're hunting for new talent, maybe you want to re-start your signings to the Roc-A-Fella label by signing the first Chinese rapper / clothing designer / entrepreneur.

"Girls is pimp too, go-on brush yo shouldas off"

I got caught! (Wearing the same thing...)

I got caught wearing the same thing as someone else at a dinner party last night. And soon thereafter, I saw another person wearing the same thing too...which means a grand total of 3 were wearing the same thing. Has that ever happened to you? Is it embarrassing or does it somewhat "legimatize" your wardrobe?

Shout out to j - queens in da house.

Just think...zebrazzz.

Stew Time - From the Prince of Nigeria

The Prince of Nigeria came and cooked us up some stew...and the verdict is...it was delicious! Well done, even though it was cooked with the lesser valued beef as compared to the highly regarded goat.

Secret sauce when interviewed? "Japanese Soy Sauce." Does that mean that the secret sauce in dragon rolls is goat cheese?

Arigato!

Follow-up from the Heath Ledger death mystery

New York Times reports...

At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building, at 421 Broome Street in SoHo, for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger naked and unconscious on a bed, with pills scattered around his body. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities.

I guess he was at Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment.

Heath Ledger Found Dead...R.I.P. future Joker Man

Tough news from the entertainment world...Heath Ledger is found dead in his apartment in Manhattan. What a loss to the film and arts community. And he was the next "Joker" in the next Batman movie. Bummer! I, however, remember him from the fame - "10 Things I Hate About You."
His family / kids / ex-wife must be devastated.

Rest in peace...

New Air Jordan XX3

Yes, Michael Jordan has released his 23rd Air Jordans available on Jan 23rd for $230 in 23 special outlets. Above are my favorites, Air Jordan IV. Hello!

Cloverfield...makes me sick

What a great concept! Monsters attack Manhattan, people who are happening to film a going away party for their friend end up filming the whole sequence. The problem they forgot is that they are just normal people filming, which means that they are horrible when it comes to camera stability. Yes, yes, I know there must be some effect of amateurs filming, but really, I couldn't take much more of watching the film before I had to look away. All-in-all, a decent movie, but really tough to watch this on a screen. I recommend rental, or watching it on your mobile device.

Also, many scenes were supposedly filmed in LA. But of course...This scene after our heroes get off the Brooklyn Bridge takes place in front of a Sephora in Manhattan, but in fact, it is a fake store street set in Los Angeles.

Greenwich St...in Las Vegas?

Stayed at New York, New York while in Vegas and it just so happened that they had my street sign there. Greenwich St. But wait, Greenwich and Broadway?? That doesn't exist! Staying at New York, New York, being from New York....is lame.

K-Town is in the house

Kun Jip is so solid. One of the longest lines for a Korean restaurant...but soju is dangerous. Their Kalbi Tang is really good and they'll even cook the Kalbi in the back so you don't stink!

Later, P, W, B and I went to Cafe 212 underground. So chill there, plays hip hop. Give D and J some props for introducing it to me. Later it was on to Lotus. Wow...don't remember much after that.

Juno gets shutout!

I was really bummed that Juno got shut out last night from the non-Golden Globe Awards / Press Conference. Great movie. And the format of the awards show was quite efficient...they did the best they could!

WGA "strikes" again...Golden Globe goes down

No Golden Globe Awards this year. What's next? hate to say it, but the Oscars are in serious risk. And that means bad bad news for not just networks but also all the other businesses that suffer. Supposedly Los Angeles will lose about $100 million just from the loss of that one event. Not to mention the enormous losses in the fashion industry and advertising dollars.

Did anyone see Queen Latifah host the People's Choice Awards? No? Good. b/c it was really boring. She was just surrounded by awards that she gave out and videod acceptance speeches were played. LAME.

I Love New York 3!! not...

I guess New York is tryin to prove that finding love through a reality TV show really does work after all. She is still going on strong with her dude, but we all know that money talks. Inevitably as her single status goes away, so do the money making opportunities on MTV.

And MTV can't let that happen! Especially since people are starving for something entertaining to watch during the unnecessarilty long WGA strike.

Revenge of the Bull

Hinrich gets broken on this play by Jamal Crawford (a former Bull). It's so sick it's stupid.

A Whole New World?

This guy is quickly becoming a YouTube star. But he is really freakish in his ability to sound like both a guy and girl...while singing Disney songs. Yea, I know. You'll just have to listen.

Fighting Illini shows little fight in Rose Bowl

Talk about an insanely frustrating game to watch. Illinois got wacked by USC in the Rose Bowl today and it was completely maddening to watch almost every single pass thrown in the first half by Juice Williams get thrown behind the line of scrimmage. The point is to go TOWARDS the end zone!! I really can't stand USC.

Tell Me - Wonder Girls

The hottest dance in Korea happens to be the "Tell Me" dance - courtesy of my brother (again). Check out the real video, and then a bunch of Koreans doing it.

We were in Dallas ice skating and saw Korean FOBs doing this dance on ice!

And here is the compilation...

Souljia Boy - Crank That!

This is the hottest dance taking the nation by storm right now. I tried to learn it. it's fun! I saw 4 white girls doing this dance in the parking lot of a Factory Card Outlet store in suburban Chicago. This must mean it is almost over then....today's "Macarena"
